On June 3, at Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, 10:00 a.m. US Ambassador Ian C. Kelly opened the 10th ENAM Conference titled Brave New Europe. The international Conference was organized by the U.S. Government Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia (EPAG) with support of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia. Delegates from 11 countries participated in the Conference. There were four panel discussions during the conference on the following topics: the role of propaganda in shaping New Reality where the speakers discussed the cases of Georgia and Ukraine; Europe in Making, where the speakers uncovered the processes taking place within the EU. The third topic focused on migration, security and human rights. Discussion on the impact of refugees and migration processes on the policy-making in Europe, especially after visa liberalization. The final panel was on the US Commitment to the Young Democracies. In particular, the panel addressed the issue of the role of the United States in the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe during their transition to democracy. Representatives from the Georgian Government, Parliament and international/local organizations made presentations at the conference. The Conference focused on the transformation that Europe is currently going through. The chosen topic highlights that it is a period of change that we live in.
